We gather each week at 9:00 AM Sunday morning for fellowship, sharing of joys and concerns, gratitude, service and faith exploration. Worship begins at 10:00 AM and includes music, prayers and meditation, scripture readings, a message, and children's time. Our modern sanctuary has prayer shawls on chairs throughout the room for you to take and give to anyone who may be going through a difficult time or to those celebrating a joyous event. Large print bulletins and hearing devices are available to use, and our building is at one level, with air conditioning, and accessible. Plenty of parking space and valet parking is available. There is no dress code; dress how you feel comfortable - many of us wear jeans, shorts, and other casual clothes.
We also gather each Wednesday evening for a non-traditional worship experience. We meet each week at Rumors Sports Bar and Grill in Sussex for dinner. Each person covers the cost of their own meal. Elements found in the non-traditional worship are ice breakers, prayer, communion, scripture and dinner discussion! The purpose of this worship experience is to create a sense of community and relationship in a less traditional experience. If you are new to the experience of church or have been unsatisfied with traditional church, this may be an option for you!
At Redeemer, children are an important part of the worshiping and learning community. Children are encouraged to participate in worship. There is a special time for The Child In All Of Us during the Sunday service. Children are invited forward and adults are encouraged to accompany children who may be cautious. Supervised nursery care is available for children under age 3 during Sunday worship. In the nursery are toys, a rocking chair, a changing table (also in all of our restrooms) and a toddler-sized toilet for those working on potty training. If you’d prefer to sit by the fireplace or let your toddler explore the Great Hall (the gathering space outside of the sanctuary), the Sunday worship service is broadcast there as well.
Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month. Redeemer practices “Open Communion” as Jesus did. Christ’s table is open to everyone, whether you’re a member of Redeemer, another church, or no church at all. Children are welcome to participate in communion as soon as parents feel they are ready. In addition to the bread and wine, gluten-free bread and grape juice are available.
